Am I missing something? Why did this go so high.

I was bidding on some other stuff on an local online auction site. I looked at this lot and didn't even think about bidding, as most of the stuff was in pretty bad shape, or mommy made, and the dolls were pretty beat up. Any idea if I missed something or were a couple of folks just trying to buy their childhood?

I did win this lot, and am absolutely thrilled with it. Glad they didn't want this.

may have driven up the price - though not by that much. That can only be described as auction fever, imo.

That particular Golden Dream trunk can sell for between $15-$25 depending on condition. When you add in the dolls and clothes, about $20-$30 would have been fair.

In this case, I think it's either auction fever or a newbie trying to recapture the dolls of their youth as anything Superstar era is going to pretty good money on eBay right now. The NRFB stuff might be out of their price range.
