Some years ago I noticed a few of my dolls developed the "greasy" vinyl syndrome making them feel sticky. I sold or gave them away because of it, including a few childhood dolls.
One of them was a sausage curl Skipper my mom had bought for me new on a birthday looong ago! I always regretted selling her as I loved that doll. Mom had rebodied her on a straight leg body and both the head and body got sticky/tacky.
She still had her original rubber bands and hair ribbons intact and I figured I'd never be able to replace her for a reasonable amount.
Then I found one on ebay that looked great except her hair was loose and some was missing. But her body was near excellent. So I got her for a good price.
Then later I saw just a blond sausage curl head on ebay that looked almost exactly like my original but was the newer pink vinyl. I paid more than I wanted but she was so perfect for me!
Here is my first sausage curl girl that I sold--
Here is the new one in some new photos--
Feels so good to have her back again--
