The stylist for the out-of-box photos took a lot of liberties with the hair. His original design was meant to represent a side-part bubble. He's pointed out that the box image is closer to his original design. This is his exact quote: Here is the next Silkstone reproduction in Modern Art from 1965. The hair is supposed to represent a sidepart Bubblecut. This is the first redhead bubble repro ever and the first time Modern Art has been reproduced. It’s a very hard to find and delicate fashion from 1965 and the first time Barbie added artist to her long resume of careers. Side note- I don’t know what to say about out of box shots and set shoot, it’s my first time seeing it with you all (I’m choosing not to post). I think the stylist took some creative liberties on what they think “pretty hair” should look like vs period accurate for Barbie. It seems unclear if they followed the reference on the packaging lid shot that shows the design intent. I think the in box shot is closer to what will be actual product. Good luck getting her to all who want her. 💚 #Barbie #barbiereproduction #reprobarbie Releases August 21, 2025, to Club 59 members and then later to everyone. Price point is $80 USD.
