For those of you asking about the "other" pink doll from last week, that's Rose. Rose was one of the suspects in the game played last year at the NBDCC.
She was designed by Magia 2000 with artwork by Steven Frasier of Dressmaker Details.
There were 35 Rose dolls made and you won her by collecting "Find Midge" cards that were hidden around the hotel during the convention. Your cards with your registration info was put into one of two bowls so that you could be entered to win one the "Secret Passage" dolls given away on Saturday night.
Because the design and artwork was done before the dolls were received from Mattel, the tiara Rose was pictured wearing in the artwork didn't come on the doll. In addition to her jewelry, I was contracted to create 35 tiaras for Rose - based only on a description and without seeing any artwork. From those 35 dolls, 30 would be won through the drawing and 5 gifted to "certain people" who worked hard on behalf of convention.
For my time and trouble, as well as for all of the work I did on behalf of convention last year, I was gifted one of the Rose dolls. She's one of the dolls that means the most to me out of my entire collection.
