I’ve made an initial version of the iconic pink gingham dress from the Barbie Movie — Silk dupioni box pleated by hand to insure exact placement of the check pattern, with hand made spaghetti straps. Due to the box pleating, I’m not able to get the skirt to the level of fullness shown in the movie, but am personally loving the slim styling.

I will be making an alternate version, with a fuller, gathered skirt, petticoat and belt later this week. I am taking pre-orders for this version, with multiple color options: white check with choice of pink, aqua, cadet blue, kiwi green, lemon yellow, black, periwinkle or purple. Due to splitting my work time between doll sewing and making my daughter’s wedding dress, I’m anticipating a 2-3 dresses per week. Dresses will be made and shipped in order of paid invoices.
