Family celebrates on Christmas Eve. Then hops in car and go look at Christmas lights afterwards.
My family has a lot of different traditions, so it’s difficult to pick a single favorite. However, on Christmas Eve we have “The Meal of the Seven Scary Foods” – which is really a local variation on an old Slavic tradition. Even though most of us don’t like everything that’s served, we all have a tiny bite of even the dishes we don’t care for, in part because it’s tradition.
When I was a kid, after this meal and before Midnight Mass, my Uncle Bud (really my dad’s uncle) would arrive at my grandparents’ house dressed as Santa and give each kid an orange and a candy cane. Took me years to figure out that the phone call “from the fam” (where my grandmother’s sister lived) was always the warning to the adults that Uncle Bud and Aunt Helen (who was suspiciously Santa’s driver) were on the way!
In this drawing you are playing for “Just the Basics,” an NRFP Ken Basics Denim collection fashion pack.
The accessory pack was donated by Ivy in MA.
