IMO, the last few years haven't been that great. In 2018, it was playline disguised as collector, which was the "wave of the future" even if we didn't know it at the time. The 2019 doll was "cutting edge couture" but it was poorly executed. I was especially disappointed in last year's doll, considering what the international market received - the red and blue Chromatic Couture.
This year still remains to be seen. Assuming a virtual convention happens, of course. I've heard nothing.
I am hopeful, though, that in 2022 we'll return to something a bit more glamorous. It's Chicago. We should be mostly out of the pandemic. The convention chairs are good people. So fingers crossed.
