Love the pink fur coat!
A few quick updates for those not on Facebook or who haven't seen them elsewhere.
Mattel is set to release the "Barbie Fashion Extra" line. They are supposed to hit in between the Fashionista line and the BMR 1959 line, with nods to doll lines from MGA, particularly the LOL OMG and Rainbow High dolls. I confess that I have no idea what much of that last sentence means, as I borrowed it from the Papusile Mele doll blog on Facebook. As I don't collect anything beyond Barbie, Gene, Tonner's Tyler, and a few other dolls here and there, I'm not even sure what those other dolls look like.
Rumor has it that there will be five dolls in the first wave and one will be a Ken. None of that has been confirmed but the rumors strongly indicate that the information is correct.
I confess that I'm a bit of a coat addict in real life so I love the coats on these dolls. They are also less shocking to me than the BMR line, though I've seen different combos using those dolls and fashions and really do like them. I just don't like the way they are sold together. But this line? I kind of like everything about them as they are.
However, the following images are what have been posted on the Facebook blog:
Also in the news, Hudson's Bay in Canada has added three more items to their Hudson's Bay x Barbie collection, including an adult sized version of the Stripes doll's coat, a journal, and a cup. They are exclusive to Hudson's Bay and with the US/Canada border closed, eBay is the only recourse for many to add these pieces to their collection.
I also really love everything in this collection, including the coat. See my note above about coats. I have an 80s-era Hudson Bay wool coat with a hood and toggle buttons. At some point, the Woolrich Company (located not far from me) made production samples and when they were finished with them, sold them in their company store where my mom and I were fortunate enough to be able to buy them. So if the border was open? I would be on my way north to get one!
