Re: Other than the SUperSize ones? As far as I've found, there is only (msg)
No problem! I know that time zones mess everyone up and delay replies. :-)
I wish I had been able to go to one of Lynn's mini-ventions, but it just never worked out. So glad you were able to go, though and had so much fun! Getting together with fellow Barbie lovers is always a great time!
Sorry for the delay replying, I'm on UK time lol
I love seeing all your convention dolls, especially as there's so many I never even knew about, and I'm sure everyone else enjoys them too!
Yes I was very fortunate to be able to attend a few of her early 'miniventions'. They were great fun and I met lots of great people who shared my enthusiasm for Barbie which was a new experience for someone living in the uk were collectors were few and far between.
You're quite welcome. I've struggled with shoes for these dolls over the years and have tried just about everything. I've also ended up with some of the non-Barbie dolls that fit the shoes I bought that didn't fit the Queen B!
Also, thank you for letting me know you like the convention dolls. I know I can get carried away some times. I do collect as many of the unofficial ones as I can. They are much harder to track down, unfortunately. I have some and am always on the lookout for more.
I used to know Lynn at Cherished Friends quite well! I also remember her conventions. They were only about 90 minutes away from me. I tried to get to a few but never made it - mostly because I was tied up with work. I really wish I could have made at least one of them. I take it you were there and had a good time?
thank you so much for taking the time to give such a detailed response, you've been a great help and I will definitely see what I can find on eBay.
On a side note, I love seeing all your convention dolls and just wondered if you also collected the ones from the unofficial Barbie conventions? My very first doll convention was one organised by Cherished Friends who I believe are fairly local to you?
one other kind that will fit her - the ones for Mego's Sparkle Candi. Her clothes also fit SuperSize Barbie, in some cases better than the regular Mattel ones. These are your best bet. If you're looking on eBay, you can also search under "Brandi" as that was the name of the Canadian version of the doll.
There were some clone outfits for these dolls and they came with shoes that would fit, but the name they were released under escapes me at the moment.
Miss Revlon and Miss Revlon clones shoes will work in a pinch they are designed for a different type of foot.
I've seen some people claim that Gene and Tyler shoes will fit, but that's not been my experience. SS Barbie is larger than those two dolls and the feet are radically different.
Shoes for the Harmony doll will not work. Too flat. Same with the Tiffany Taylor doll for the most part. Some claim the lime green ones she came with work for them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks
