These images were posted by Robert Best on his Instagram page. I have to say that if boots had replaced this sock and shoe combo? I would have gone for it. His original sketch versus the doll brought to market are pretty different, imo.
The spirit, let's say, is there, but Mattel's execution of his vision is off. I'll say it again, and I know there will be people who disagree, but for me, the articulation in the doll only makes this design worse. A classic Silkstone body likely would have worn this dress much better than the new one. It's no secret that I dislike articulation of this sort (it's a personal aesthetic) but in this case, I think it hurts the doll more than it helps.
His post also confirms that there are three more dolls coming in 2020 to round out this collection, so BiB is not the "final" Sillkstone, but the first of the final collection.
Sad that a line that came in with such a bang looks as if it will end with a whimper.
