Just a few quick notes from the last few weeks....
Last weekend was the Spanish doll convention. Magia 2000 created Flamazing, the gorgeous Silkstone convention doll exclusively for the event: https://tinyurl.com/yysh8762
While David Bocci did the amazing centerpieces: https://tinyurl.com/y565b9v2
Mattel's gift to conventioneers was the brunette version of 60th Sparkles.
The X-Men: Dark Phoenix dolls are beginning to ship after much delay. Have yet to see a review of the dolls and I didn't order them so I can't say how they look.
More Rosa Parks dolls seem to be hitting the shelves. A handful have been found in Walmarts and dealers are finally receiving their shipments, though in limited quantites
The Robert Best designed Star Wars dolls are still holding for a late November/early December release - which is coming sooner than we think.
At the moment, there are no more shipments of the Dia de Muertos Barbies out there, but there is a rumor going around that Mattel may put the doll back into a limited production run to fill outstanding orders with a release scheduled for April 2020. That said, there is no confirmation of this and, at present, vendors aren't receiving any more dolls. In some cases, like Amazon, orders are being cancelled.
The Barbie Styled by Chriselle Lim dolls seem to be slowly trickling out. My set arrived and photos will follow next week. Barbie Signature ran a sale on both dolls together which is how I got mine.
Last weekend was Hallmark's ornament debut. The 2019 Holiday Barbie ornaments were released in both the blonde and AA versions. The ballerina Barbie was also released. Most stores in my area did not receive additional stock of the 60th anniversary porcelain ornament, making me wonder if there will be any more shipped of it what is out there is it.
In Barbie Signature's "Design Showdown" competition, photos of the two prototypes for Flight of Fashion and The Royal Court have been released. Reaction has been...mixed. If you're on Facebook, pop over to Papusile Mele page to see them: https://www.facebook.com/PapusileMele/
And, of course, the first 850 emails to potential 2020 conventioneers went out last week. Wait listed people will be notified in a week or two, according to convention chairs. So for the next three years, the US convention locations are:
2020 - Las Vegas, NV
2021 - Palm Springs/Palm Desert, CA
2022 - Chicago, IL
I think that's about it. Might have missed something, but if I did, please feel free to add it below!
