Thanks for the review and I completely agree with you.
I picked up Selma Dupar James at Tuesday Morning a few weeks ago, and just took her out of the box. I purchased her more as a play doll, as she has a lovely AA face plus the Made to Move body. But looking at her as a collector doll, she is very disappointing. Her hair was full of that nasty gunk, and when I washed it, this is how it was cut:
Not a huge deal, but for a $90 doll, it should be better, this is not a hard cut.
The outfit is pretty, but to make it look good in the box, they had to sew it together, and put that double sided tape to keep it in place. It was really hard to get the dress off the tape without damaging it, as it is very fragile in the bodice. Not a bad dress, just not outstanding.
Her jewelry can not be removed without cutting it, or removing the head, so I will have to redo that and put a clasp on them. She does have one of the cutest shoe molds I have seen in a while:
Very deco looking. I would wear them in my size!.
The painting they included was flimsy and not very useful, but as she was an artist it makes sense, just wish it was a bit more robust.
I paid $30.00 for her at TM and in my opinion that is about what she was worth, Did take a nice portrait to finish off the day:
And it works for Friends and Family day, so there!
