Our 2012 album, Wake Up Where You Are did okay for a while but it lacked promotion. Besides that it wasn't really meant to be an album.
We had been recording some of our old tunes to see if we sounded like ourselves. Those recordings were in preparation for a live show.
Around the same time we were actively writing new songs and had begun to lay them down as well.
Also thrown into the mix were a few songs we were commissioned to do. Namely Mr. Farmer for a tribute album to Sky Saxon, Charlotte's Remains is song by The Fuzztones that they asked us to record for inclusion on their album which has various artists doing they songs. Then we were asked to write a theme song for a movie about Garry Davis and his World Citizen passport which we did.
So, if you're still following this, what ended up happening was that Steve Bartek who was producing and recording all this, got about three of four projects he had to do. So we just decided to put all these tracks out as an album. Not what we had planned to do. The idea was to record all new songs and release an album, instead we kinda had a mishmash of stuff.
Right now we have a few new songs in the can and a redo of Incense and Peppermints song with an Elvis song we were asked to do for a charity album with a bunch of other artists.
Sounds like we may be headed down the same road...LOL

Recently noticing that when constructing "best of 1967" or "best of the ' 60's"album rock lists, internet critics do quote often recognize the first album for being fairly worthwhile and include it in these lists even if in the lower parts of the rankings.Do you hear anything in recent years or decade music that indicates at least some of your music may still be relevant? How were sales for the 2012 album?
