Speaking of the Grass Roots, did you ever see them perform with Creed Bratton, who achieved even larger success on 'The Office".....
IMHO yes! The Byrds were hit makers on a world wide stage, but Love were every bit as revered as innovators here in LA.
There were several groups in LA that had the folk rock sound. Love was at the top along with the original Grass Roots (Love had that same moniker at one time), The Leaves, The Byrds, Moby Grape, Buffalo Springfieldand others.
Been listening to LOVE's integral debut and it as always it seems fresh without,of course, being relevant.Over a half century later, still highly recommended for those in search of true sixties innovation.Question...while most people would mention the Byrds first in classic rock conversations, most best albums ever lists, "Forever Changes" always finishes well higher than any Byrds release. Was LOVE just as if not more innovative than the Byrds?
