Yes, Dan is Paul's son. He's extremely talented like his dad. Robby Krieger and I are long time friends and he asked me to sit in with him and Dan and Elliot Easton for that show, it was called the Hidden Hills Hootenanny, but it was at the King Gillett Ranch in Calabasas, CA.
We rehearsed ahead of time at Robby's recording studio, Horse Latitudes. As a matter of fact, that's Dan Rothschild's Fender bass that I'm playing. Dan does a lot of session work on bass and vocals. Robby wanted to play Incense and Dan wanted to sing it. We also did Road House Blues.
The connection of course is that Paul Rothschild produced the Doors.
