Hey Guys(or our distinguished proxy Rob J!)I very much enjoyed the story George Bunnell shared about the band's elation when I&P hit number one on the Billboard chart. This,of course, was quickly followed by a rousingly successful national tour with the Springfield and the Beach Boys which prodded SAC even further out into the national spotlight. Now a while back,Mr. Bunnell explained to me that achieving success on high levels such as these can hinder a group's efforts due to paying too much attention to what the press and the rest of the world have to say about them,in turn leading to a lack a focus on their professional game plan. How would SAC have handled success had they achieved it on level of,say, the Monkees in 1967.How well might they have maintined significant focus on their receordings ands shows amidst fan and media deistraction? Also,do you think if LOVE had been better promoted nationally,Arthur Lee might have the potential to became a rock hero in vein of maybe a Jim Morrison?Been reading a book about LOVE by one of their drummers who felt compelled to mention how much of a marvelous stage presence Arthur was.Personally,I think Lee was just as talented all around as Morrison, just the mode of poetic communicae delivered by Lee was a bit more on the romantic side of things...........
