I was born too late and didn't get to experience the 'Summer Of Love' but talking to people who did plus reading articles and watching documented clips, I get the sense it must have been such a wonderful time, especially from 1966 - early 1967. In that regard, I disagree with George Harrison. Harrison must have heard or read of such things as well and probably had high expectations before he visited Haight Ashbury in August 1967 but by that time, what I heard was, the scene was already crumbling; Overpopulated with runaways, pleasure seekers, opportunists, pushers, the mob, etc, etc. As you know, he said some nasty things about the scene and thought the SOL was BS. Perhaps George B would know more as he was really there in California before, during and after the 'Summer Of Love'.
