Arthur Lee had several SAC connections.
Back in 1967 SAC played on the same bill as Love at the Hullaballoo Club in Hollywood, Ca.
Also on that same bill was a band called Public Bubble which was the interim name of the band that Randy Seol and I and Steve Bartek all came from before SAC and went back to after SAC.
That night Arthur had Steve come up on stage and play flute with them.
When Steve, Randy and I got back together as Buffington Rhodes, our manager was Stepanie Buffington. She was Arthur's ex-girlfriend and the subject of the song "Stephanie Knows Who".
just a weird coincidence.
BR opened for Arthur Lee and Love at the Shrine Exposition Hall in late 1968. Procal Harum and Chicago were also on that bill.
Later, in 1989 SAC did a Summer of Love tour with Love , The Seeds and the Music Machine.
In the early 1990's SAC played with Arthur at the world famous Palomino Club in North Hollywood, Ca.
Arthur called me prior to the show and asked if SAC would back him up on 7 and 7 is, Little Red Book and Hey Joe. Of course we would...he also jumped up on stage with us and sang Little Wing with Lee Freeman...way cool!
RIP Arthur Lee and Lee Freeman.

: intelligent, articulate man. I remember the
: sadness upon reading the obituaries of Bryan
: MacLean and Arthur Lee, in Rolling Stone and

: Also. In your opinion who were two or
