Here is my experience with one. I have several and have used them without having any trouble for several years until one attacked me while fishing this morning. It (the pole) was almost as violent as the democrats want you to believe a gun is.
I wanted to get my bait up next to the bank, but in order to get it there I had to swing it up under a large bush sticking out over the water. Swinging my bait up under the bush wasn't hard to do as I only had a line 3 feet long, a 1/16th leadhead jig, and a cork. That pole behaved as purty as you ever seen one and placed my bait right where I wanted it to go. As soon as that jig sank down and my cork hit the water a fish grab hole of my jig and the cork went under and started going further up under that bush. This is where that durn pole became violent. I got all excited, because of the overhanging bush I couldn't lift up on the pole the way you are suppose to. I had to pull it straight back and the pole didn't like that. I pulled back straight back on that pole as hard as I could trying to set the hook in the fish. as I jerked back on the pole with my left hand I brought my right hand forward just as fast as I brought the pole back.
You know that little piece of skin between your index finger and your thumb. Looks kinda like a web between the toes on a duck. Well, that is what that fiberglass pole attacked on my right hand. You know, there are two of those line wrappers. One points to the tip of the pole and the other points to butt section. Well, the one that points to butt section struck between my right thumb and my right index finger and punctured it. I looked down and there's blood all over my right hand and I see that I have the rear line wrapper stuck in my hand. When I go to pull it out I find that it isn't just stuck in my hand The durn thing went all the way through and is sticking out the other side. So, If you own one be on the look out. It may turn violent on you like mine did with me.
