The director says he needs an actor tonight and possibly every night for 3 months in his Broadway play. He says he'll only have one line but at least he'll be working. The line is, "Hark, I hear the cannons roar".
The actor practices the line the entire day and is determined to succeed. In a gentle way he says "Hark I hear the cannons roar". In a loud way he says "HARK I HEAR THE CANNONS ROAR". The actor decides to say his line in a dramatic loud way and rehearses it all day.
He arrives at the Play House and the director tells him that he will be pushed out on stage a few seconds before he is to say his line.
At the crucial time he is pushed out on stage and a recording of a cannon firing is played so loud that the Play House vibrates from the sound and the actor reacts by yelling.......
"WHAT THE f#$K WAS THAT"?
