I guess the closest he comes to petulant in a later role is in Dean Spanley, where he seems more frustrated than cranky.
Now that you mention it, Henslowe Fisk and Mr Knightley are in similar situations, aren't they? They're both angry/upset with the behavior of someone they love. But the particulars are not the same. Mr Knightley isn't grieving the deaths of 2 close family members.
