I don't understand what the big mystery is about his role.
But OKOT is still listed on his CV on the Curtis Brown site, so I'm going to believe he is still in the film until it's removed from that source, or until I read that the director/producer/spokesperson for the production co/etc states JN was cut from OKOT.
Call me hopelessly optimistic, but there you go.
I think what all the confusion means is that IMDb pages are created and updated by folks who are working with the same info anyone in the general public will have access to. Remember, IMDb is a secondary source, not a primary source like a film's production company press release or an interview with one of the cast or crew.
