Agreed, Jules. Here in the US White Heat ran about a month after Downton Abbey finished one of its early seasons. Everything I read compared WH to DA unfavorably. 
I found that very annoying. 
Jeremy and Sam Claflin worked really well together--you really felt the father/son antagonism between them.
