It seems to me that Emmy voters tend to go with actors & shows they know--and they don't seem to know more than a few, so the same people & shows get nominated over and over again. The quality of the performance becomes secondary, unfortunately. Sean Hayes was in Will and Grace, so everyone knew him. JN was just one of those Brits no one can tell apart. [Sarcasm intended in that last sentence!] I think the same factor went into his lack of a nomination several years later with The Tudors. I will always be bitter about that.
