The next phase in operation tighten the FFP rules begins. Soon only three clubs will be allowed to pay any money for any player.

Read the other day that 2/3 of Efl clubs are looking for investment.

League one and the championship are losing ridiculous amounts of money.

in other news the world is round.

the regs up to last year said you could lose £105m over three years - actually more if you could spin a good yarn about what you spent it on.

so if you arent doing that when everyone else is then you are putting yourself at a disadvantage.

It is completely insane and the sooner a massive re-set happens the better but I don’t know how it can.
Everyone keeps saying it’s a business not a sport but how many businesses set out to “only” lose £105 million pounds over just 3 years? Why not just say that each club has to post a profit each year on all the things that are/ were captured under FFP? It would force players’ wages and agents’ fees down and players might move abroad - so what? I’m not interested in whether the Premier League is the best league in the world and I don’t particularly want to see them unless they play for Everton. I support Everton not the Premier League.

One team, even if all the players were playing for nothing, is still losing money. That sounds like they are well fucked. I wonder who that could be?

Would that be loan interest and transfers fees paid in instalments that are still due.
