Harry Kane

He's probably scored that same goal 200 times in his career. First touch perfect set, second touch goal. Never flustered in front of goal.

Finishing, passing, penalties, unselfishness ….all tip top. He’s a tremendous player and as number 9 he’s right up there but he lacks a bit flair. He’s almost too clinical in his decision making which obviously gets results but Drogba, Ibrahamovic, Batistuta et al all did it with a touch of swag.

England will be significantly inferior when he retires.

There’s no adequate replacement currently.

There’s a video on YouTube taken from the stands of a goal he scored for Bayern v Frankfurt last season. The technique is incredible.

The apotheosis of work ethic, belief and a spot on attitude that's propelled decent ability to the very top of his profession, a superb role model.

That clutching both ankles as he hits the ground thing. Gordon had basically copied it but holds his knees.

I still fume over his getting Doucoure sent off. The prick had a concussion check FFS.

Not to mention that thing he used to do where he backed in bent over in front of the defender coming in for a header and they'd land on their head, the dirty cunt.

Him being described as a one season wonder on here, was up there with Foden being "Championship at best" and Messi a "Flat track bully" 😆

Re: Harry Kane

Posted by Meff Stelling User icon on October 3, 2026, 5:30 pm, in reply to "Re: Harry Kane "

To be fair Foden is pretty much living up to that description now.

Re: Harry Kane

Posted by Bertram_Wooster User icon on October 4, 2026, 9:37 am, in reply to "Re: Harry Kane "

Foden had horrific IBS which fucked his fitness for a couple of years...

He's also got double figures in every season since 20-21.

Wish we had a one hit wonder midfielder like that.

Best English forward in my lifetime, it's not even close. And he'd do a job in midfield at a push. An absolutely fabulous player.

Re: Harry Kane

Posted by Dt_Kowalski User icon on October 3, 2026, 5:29 pm, in reply to "Re: Harry Kane "

He's got to be in the top 5 England players of all time. If he'd not wasted all those years at Spurs and had played for Bayern for the last 10 years he'd probably be seen as our greatest ever player.

He didn’t “waste” any years at Spurs. He played loads and scored loads and was adored by the fans.

Knocks me sick to see people only giving value to players if they play for the Sly 6 or their European equivalents.

Not so much for making their Champions League final all about his fitness, then playing when clearly nowhere near fit and essentially reducing them to ten men.

Spot on. Similar with Shearer and Newcastle.

Re: Harry Kane

Shearer already had a league title under his belt so he had won a trophy. Kane could have had a trophyless career.

Pickford doesn't deserve a trophyless career does he? Hopefully he'll pick one up at Everton but I think that he's got more chance with England.

Very true, but it's also true he could've gone anywhere post-blackburn, and indeed he's supposed to have knocked back Alex Ferguson three times - presumably because when push came to shove he'd rather win a throw in for Newcastle than a league for Manchester United.

I’m not a fan of the view that you are only any good if you win trophies at a big club.

You can be a great player even if you don’t win loads.

Neither am I, but when a players looks back at his career and sees no trophies despite being one of the best players of a generation then they'll be disappointed. I could understand if he was a mid-level jobber but he's elite level. I can't think of many other players of his level who went careers winning nothing.

Matt Le Tissier was outrageously good, certainly one of the best players of his generation.

Turned into an absolute maniac, by all accounts. Maybe this is what happens if you don’t move to a “big” club 🤣

Possibly the best goaly in the world over the last 10 years yet afforded zero respect because he doesn’t play for one of the vile, popular clubs.

Kudos to Jordan and fuck the haters.
