Good news on the job front

Posted by JonahEFC20 User icon on October 2, 2026, 2:46 pm

Being made redundant on the 6th November with a decent package and just secured a new role which will start whenever I'm available in November.

Was so stressed out about it, mortgage deal ends beginning of next year so was not sleeping properly with worry as I didn't want to use the redundancy money to pay everything.

Out tonight for a celebratory drink.

Fantastic news! Gives me hope. Currently in the process of our department being cut in half and going through the process now to establish who’s staying and who’s going.

Terrible initial voluntary red offer so not even considering that, I’ll roll the dice and hope I’ll be one of the ones to stay.

Are you staying within a similar industry? I think if I go that’s me done. I’m 42 in December and feel like if I stay in this industry it’ll be the first of many, that’s even if I’m lucky to gain employment again.

All the best in your new role

fucking ideal this, hope you get a good payout as well.

Had a mate do this, left on the Friday with 10K started a new job with his biggest client the Monday for a 15% payrise, and then had great fun re-directing the clients business away from the firm that let him go.

which is top bittering.
