We got battered and won 0-1

Great night out in town after too (also my first one)

Redknapp inexplicably escaped a red card that day.

I’m sure Jacques Santini was the spurs manager. May have even been his first win. Obviously.

there were several nails in my matchgoing coffin back then. collina, rooney, chelsea spending, in game cheating.

that game and redknapp sticks in my mind. kicked everything and then fell over the minute anyone came near him. free kick. losing control of the ball near the touch line under pressure, fall over. free kick.

i always cited the prevalence of cheating as a key reason i didnt renew in 2006 and i think subconsciously this game was very much part of it. i had totally forgotten about it until just now. weird how your mind files stuff away.

all of the above led me to "whats the point"

He went completely over the ball on Cahill and studded him above the knee cap.

Horrendous tackle. Poll gave it a yellow.

Not that kind of player.

We've heard that one more than once.

Didn't he do Gravesen as well and got away with it?

High flying Everton, Spurs not won there for ages.

We obviously lost then.

This game was part of a run of 1 defeat in 13 at Goodison for Spurs

but were very lucky that day for sure.

Oh right in the commentary at the start it said Spurs hadn’t won since 98. Must have been mostly draws then.

I always remember that night game against Spurs possibly a few years later when Moyes brought Hibbert on when we were losing 0-1 to much hilarity/outrage

The night the stadium announcer gleefully told us the shite were getting chinned 1-0 by Barcelona. Then as we pissed this game away, they came back and won 2-1 (Bellamy golf swing celebration) thus fuelling the most poisonous atmosphere since the Mancs in the Cup.

Was it the Poll derby that they'd just been beat by Barca or were in the midst of a two legger they went out to them? I vividly recall "Barcelona Barcelona ole ole ole" chants in one derby. Few years before what your saying like.
