Armstrong vs Hackney

One looks to go backwards, the other forwards.
No wonder Moyes favours the former.

Didn’t take long this. Seems to be every player from the youth team gets criticised. He looked to run forward with the ball a good few times.

Doesn't take long for them to turn.

Not turning on Armstrong at all, just an observation based on yesterday when there was opportunities to push forward.
I think both are mustard.

I like Armstrong, Hackney is better though currently. Garner is not fully at it yet though.

Branthwaite has been shite with his distribution.

We could have had a few though.

Johnson turn was world class his finish was fucking last. He's desperate to be central too which is detrimental

that turn was sexual, the attempt to finish was 6th form disco

Agreed on all especially the Johnson turn, did the hard bit.
He reminds me of his Welsh team-mate Dan James a bit in that they both have electric pace but both make Stuart Barndoor Barlow look prolific.

I think it’s one of the other two that would need to come off - or in a game like this, Garner at right back

Why on earth would you not play a right back at right back, especially a good one? Crazy call to put Garner there just for the sake of playing him.

Maitland Niles also probably been one of our best 3 players since he joined too. Very decent again yesterday.

He’s a midfielder playing at right as well, like

Calm down, Nosferatu!

He’s played loads and loads at right back though and it shows, just knows where to be to cut out diagonals and to track his man. Knows how to underlap and overlap, when to get forward and when to stay in shape. I love Rohl but he hasn’t got the hang of that last bit yet.

He’s been sound. One of the few who hadn’t forgotten how to pass yesterday as well. Thought garner was poor tbh

Calm down, Nosferatu!

Aye I can see the logic of letting Garner get match fit given he was our best player last season and needs games, but it’s painful to watch at times. Especially his recent free kicks.

He’s been ok.

Garner on the other hand has been poor - needs replacing at HT.

He was about 3mm away from disaster with that suicide pass. Got very lucky there. Would be nice if he passed forward a bit more and knocked the shooting on the head. Other than that he is very good

That's what we need - Less shots!

He was holding back from shooting against United and people were getting on his back to do it more. I kinda got a grasp of why he was reluctant but feel like he's been listening to the crowd a bit too much.
