Nah I'm not having that at all. I'm no Moyes sympathiser, but if that sort of conversation did take place it would have definitely had some assurances about how likely we were to complete the purchase of Balogun.

If the answer to that question was anything less than 100% then even Moyes wouldn't have been stupid enough to sanction the sale of Beto.

I think he’d have been happy to lose the two full backs as I don’t see how he’d have ever played them anyway. but I can’t believe he would let beto go if he knew it would leave him with only barry to realistically play there in the fashion moyes likes.

as others have said tho I do think the small squad suits moyes down to the ground, he seems to work best in these scenarios.
