The thing i find mad, is that it doesnt really matter who Everton have in charge, a local celebrity trying his best, an absentee james bond villain from the middle east or some sharks from wall street. Our approach to recruitment still feels like its stuck in the 90s. Bow many other clubs still seem to be picking players by having a load of pasty executives and a manager in a cardi wearing chunky watches in front of a whiteboard discussing who could do a job? Why is there never any proper foresight or succession planning? Why is there only a SINGLE option for a crucial position. I find it absolutely mad.
I have along these lines forever. It doesn’t matter who the owners are, the manager, coaching team, back room staff, the players, etc. The outcome is still the same year after year. The only consistent is us, the supporters. Is it our fault?
Before anybody says anything, of course it isn’t our fault. We have no control over anything that goes on inside the club but it is weirdly strange how nothing ever changes when, at the same time, everything does change. I know what I mean.
Said this a few times since these lot came in but give me the Kenwright era and a cottage industry and cheap tickets any day of the month. We’ve got elite level income ideas and fan rinsing and the keystone cops doing the football stuff.
