Booking stuff for 2027

Drives me mad having to pre-book shit so far ahead.

We've just booked 2 festivals for next summer and have another 1 to book next week. That's before trying to get Glasto tickets.

Why can't they just release the tickets 6 weeks beforehand rather than having to register and book 12 months in advance?

I've barely finished my triathlon season and I'm already having to look at what events I want to do next year...... Some of them are nearly sold out already FFS

It's madness. I'm sure they get a lot more cancellations working so far in advance but that may be one of the reasons they do it when tickets are not refundable and not transferable.

A lot of the decent races you can defer to the next year or pass on your entry (admin fee applies obviously 🙄

if you get injured up to a certain date. Think I got most of money back when I was ill the other year. Still it's a massive gamble you won't pick up an injury etc.....

I don't like to think about how many races Ive missed and lost money due a last minute injury over the years ha ha

I'm always at it......currently got 13 events in the diary booked between January and July next year and will probably add to that as this year continues.

At some point I'm gonna keel over and the wife will have to attend a load of stuff with her next husband instead of me.

I enjoy booking 6 months ahead. Gives me a reason to keep slogging on, gives me something to aim at and look forward to.

It's too far ahead to get excited about though. I don't like making too many plans as it is. I'm a fly by the seat of my pants type.

because they get approx 6 months worth of interest payments on the amount while it sits in their bank.

Love Supreme Festival
Mostly Jazz Festival

And booking We Out Here on the 9th September. We missed out this year as it sold out really quickly.

We'll probably do Glasto and one abroad too. Probably the Love International festival in Croatia.

Camp, usually pay for the boutique shit, though, like a bell end tent with a proper bed if we can. It makes it expensive but well worth it.
We did Down the Rabbit Hole in Holland last summer and it was so much cheaper than anything in the UK.
We Out Here works out about 500 quid each in th eposh bits but the Dutch one was just over 200 Euros each for similar.
We like the Mostly Jazz Fest in Brum as there is no camping so we just rent a house on air b'n'b normally.

I don't take the Mrs, are you fucking mad?! I do them with my mates.

*my Mrs came to the Dutch festival and hated it. I had an absolute fucking ball despite her so she's never going again. We started out doing it as couples years ago at Festival Number 6 but over the years it's become a lads yearly gathering (or 2).
