Perfect performance

did shed loads more than just the book stuff, which in my mind is more than enough to get saintly status on its own.
Dollywood, she only brought it because the theme park was a big employer in the area she grew up and was being closed down, she decided that the loss of jobs to the area would be devastating so she stepped in and risked a big bunch of money to ensure it stayed open.
Not only did she buy the place and then spend a good few quid brining it up to spec and improving it she then set about improving the lives of people that work there, increased the wages of those employed so they could actually live on them and provided a benefits package that, especially compared to the rest of America, was brilliant.

She insisted that the outsourcing of stuff like the catering be contracted to small and medium sized business in the area rather than the massive firms that usually do it, she provided retail space either free or at a huge discount to local firms so they could sell direct to all the visitors.
If your a local and work at Dollywood for a qualifying time, she covers your college tuition so you can go to state college. its increased the amount of kids from that, generally very poor and underachieving area, that graduate college to up there in line with the average for the rest of the country.

that's without all the charity stuff she does, she personally gave $1mill to the research teams for the covid vaccination when it all kicked off as well.

In short, there should be a fecking massive statue built to the woman who has shown what someone of means with a good heart and a moral compass can do to make the world a better place.

Her library's website has crashed under the sheer weight of people rushing to donate.

RIP Dolly.

Just a decent person and although her music isn’t my thing there was sincerity in her work.

Rubbish news that.

Was it ever established what Joleen* took her man?

*She must be wonderful to abandon Dolly for.

Always liked her interviews, an American being ultra nice and positive but you always knew it was genuine and not the usual bullshit

RIP great lady.

Very sad, a truly decent human being and very talented

One of the best.

Millions of kids only know who she is because she bought them books, and that's about as lovely an epitaph as you can have.

RIP Gravesen and Carsley

Not much of a fan, but by all accounts a very nice and generous person.

Her husband passed not so long ago.

RIP Dolly.

You've no idea how expensive it is to look this cheap. RIP Dolly, absolute one off.

Very sad news. Not just a talented performer, but also a wonderful person. One of the few to keep her humanity alongside her wealth.

Time of death not announced. Anytime from 9 to 5. Too soon?

There's not a lot of people who would get a response like those below from on here. RIP Dolly.

And that worthless sack of schite in the White House is still walking around

Really sad that. Brilliant talent and seemed a really good sort

Aah sad news. Just a brilliant generous warm hearted person.

A great philanthropist too.

Surprised she was only 80 tbh. Thought she was older.

A bonafide legendary human. Truly awful news.

Terrible news. What a talented lady. RIP

ffs, rip dolly a truly sound person
