So what we learned from this weekends games

Posted by Spart User icon on August 24, 2026, 11:30 pm

If you have a go against Spurs, Villa, RS, Utd and Chelsea you can score goals against them.

Hopefully paying these sides too much respect is a thing of the past for us because apart from up front we really do have the players to do it

That there is a large selection of Everton fans who always look for a negative.
Even after the first game of the season in which we won for the first time in five years, kept a clean sheet ,and a number of our younger players started and greatly impressed .

Going toe to toe with arsenal is a bit daft, then again I think it would have been the same result if we'd have packed the bus. It's gonna be really tough season

More importantly the northern and bakerloo lines are the same fucking colour. Stupid cockney bells

Or maybe take his sunglasses off while underground.
And learn how to differentiate the words Northern and Bakerloo when following signs to the platform.

They are only the same colour if you’re a massive racialist.

Good point Spart.

Luckily our current manager seems to have already gotten the message having beaten 4 of those in his current 18+ months stint (2 of them away from home, and one a proper home thumping of Chelsea).

Agree, this current squad that he's building is showing signs of an exciting young team but there is still a few areas to address.

0/4 wins v the shite 3x loses
1/3 wins v Utd 1 x loses
1/3 wins v Chelsea 2 x loss
1/3 wins v Spurs 2 x loss
1/3 wins v Villa 1 x loss

4 wins, 9 loses out of 16. Bit of a mixed bag. Spurs finished 17th both seasons like and Utd finished 16th one of them.

Edit: forgot Spurs beat us twice last season...

Point stands, we have recent history of beating them all bar the obvious one, and that one has been a problem for this club by and large since 1971 save for a spell in the mid 90s and possibly mid 80s.

The negativity gets a bit wearing.
