Trip to the Lakes

One full day, don't want to do Windermere was thinking Ullswater, Coniston, Grasmere or anywhere that isn't rammmed. I know they'll all be packed but less packed.

Any ideas, cheers?

What do you want from the day? Low/mid/high level walks? Swimming? Shops and good places to eat? National Trust places/castles? Swimming? Walking around meres or waters?
