Jude Bellingham

Overrated beyond belief. Superstar in his own head.

He's a 'good' player, but not the 'superstar' the media have built him up to be.

He's a good crowd 'gee-er-upper' though. England players make me laugh. Bellingham and Madueke encouraging the England fans to make more noise, yet the team let a lead slip twice in the first half against a rather ordinary and aging Croatia team?

Normally lads, fans make more noise when their team is doing well, and piling constant pressure on the opposition.

The two Croatia goals were defensive calamities, and the way that defence proceeded to play the ball around amongst themselves, could be their un-doing. Better sides than Croatia are wised up to teams trying to keep possession at the back, and they would undoubtedly punish England.

The back 4 were awful, particularly Reece James. Stuart Pearce, unbelievably, gave James the MOTM?

haha He plays for real madrid every single week and if he was for sale any club that could afford him would be after him ..he quite literally is a global superstar ..

Lovely Stuff

Because of the media, mostly. He had a very ordinary season last season. Just by playing for madrid, doesn't make you a superstar. You have to perform, and for the most part, he didn't.

Tommy G played for Madrid, remember.?

Haha

The flip side of that surely though is that one bad season doesn't make you a bad player?

Overall he's a midfielder who has scored 34 in 87 games for Real.

He's also only 22 - same age as Tim Iroegbunam (and by the end of the month same age as Merlin Rohl).

He has won league titles and the Champions League and scored important goals at important times for his country.

I'm not sure what else you could reasonably expect from him. I don't think even the media who apparently build him up, have him on the same level as a 22 year old Messi or Maradona, but, especially for his age, he is an absolutely fantastic player.

Like i say, I don't dispute he is a good player, just not as 'world class and elite' as others think.

Onions etc I suppose - I'd have him as a attacking midfielder in any world XI

Goal aside, which admittedly was a good finish, I thought he spent most of the first hour last night, on the floor or moaning to the ref for fouls when he hadn't been touched.

Do you disagree that if he was for sale that any club that COULD afford him would be trying to sign him?

Its got fuck all to do with media and to do with using your eyes ...he was possibly man of the match last night and is a top elite level player .

I watch Spanish footy every week, and he was far from 'elite' for Madrid most games. I am not disputing he is a good player, I just dont think he is world elite player. Players who fall into that category do it against elite teams and do their stuff in 'most' games.

Harry Kane is world class elite, imo.

He was far from world class elite at 22 though lid. Wasn't he on loan at Leicester around then?

He matured differently to Bellingham, who was in Birmingham City's first team at 15.

My point still stands.

I saw him playing at Man City for Dortmund in the CL a few years ago and he was immense. The best player on a pitch packed with world class players.

A fantastic footballer.

Its the English managers disease. Pick players based on who they play for and persevere with them when they are completely ineffective.

Even going back to Wilkins et al over Reid, Bracewell etc

Gerrard for years despite doing nothing. Theres many more examples

Formerly this is Bracewell
