When I was a lad I did art and photography, using him as inspiration I did my best photography projects. I bummed around smoking weed and trying to bang indie chicks and not putting the work in. In the last year I was on the brink of failing and was always "next week I'll dig in and do something".
But, when I got onto his work it hooked me in genuinely turned me around, made me ACTUALLY become enthusiastic about doing my own thing and I still have some of those projects up my loft. Been meaning to dig them out to show the kids.
His paintings led me to his photography, he was a true true great of the 20th Century. Plus he got me out of the sh!t.
I'm amazed at this Peter Leyton's work - I'd never heard of him until today and better than that his work is affordable (lower end of the scale obviously)
