Aldi 'carrot and swede' mash.

A taste sensation.

A good size portion, 6 minutes in the microwave.

Rather than the ballache of preparing this for Sunday lunch, thought I would try this. I checked out the ingredients on the back, and I was surprised to see Potato 52%, Carrot 29%, swede 13%, butter and cream 4%. Probably the potato that makes it taste so good.

Well worth the price of £1.65, and I've had it with several other midweek meals rather than bland chips. Notably, it went superbly well with the huge steak and mushroom puddings i got from my local butcher, and some marrowfat peas.

Anyone else recognise this…when I was a kid we called it carrot and turnip, but in fact it was made with swede.
In other news, I just discovered. There really are dandelions in dandelion and burdock. It’s the dandelion root.

Mushrooms look disgusting T. Our kid, the younger, loves them.

I struggle to accept we came from the same womb as he also loves olives which are equally disgusting.

I make my own and freeze it. I agree it is a ballache, especially peeling fecking swedes.
