he could be, he does appear to be better in terms of what he has done but its very difficult to judge.
Mike Walker finished 3rd with Norwich, then beat Bayern Munich

Everyone said he was brilliant, played superb football, was far better than Norwich and it was seen as a coup when we appointed him

Everything isnt always as it seems with managers at these smaller clubs when they have to translate it to much bigger clubs with totally different expectations.

Little expectation at Bournemouth. He had some really poor results early doors there. He will struggle if the same happens at Greyskull.

The ego's of the RS players will be a hurdle to get over. They won't be keen on upping their workrate by about 20%, for some Basque who won nowt as a player. That's how his teams garner success on the pitch. Hard work and plenty of it.

He was doing well, then lost ¾ of his defence and a decent attacker in the summer, then lost the best attacking winger in the league in January. He's actually improved them from then, and they haven't lost a game since Semenyo left, which is staggering. He's recently announced he's leaving, and instead of downing tools, the players are all over the notion of doing it for him.

I really don't get the general apathy toward him. I've said for 18 months, he's the one manager I'd want.

Plus he actually looks like he's watching the match, seeing what's working and what's not, what the other team are doing and making changes on the pitch and from the bench in real time.

From a conversation I had with one of the players who played under him at Norwich, none of them had any respect for Walker. He inherited Dave Stringer's team, which was tightly knit and had a number of well respected senior pros who fostered a good team spirit.

Inevitably, it was at Everton where he was found out. Unsurprising, given how far out of his depth he was.
