Looking at the other team's fitures 9 points for us definitely gets us there. 6 and I think we need it to go down to 8th with Chelsea continuing to be as poor as they have been recently. Any less than that I think we've blown it.

I'm about as pessimistic an evertonian as is possible, and that takes some doing, but I think we'll beat Palace and Sunderland.

So for me it will come down to that spurs game.

Two ways to look at the Palace match.

If they get through on Thursday then they won't be arsed about the league.

Go out on Thursday then we should be going after them from the start.

Anything less than a win then forget it.

They will get through.

Glasner will want to win something and doubt give 2 fucks about league position now that they are safe.

There is however still 3 weeks before the final.

Win and we still have something to play for.
Lose and season is over.

We aren’t getting 9 points 4 or 6 for me. It’s come down to all the chucked points at home to dross teams.

Yeah not at all. Also chelsea have gone into freefall so I'm pretty sure that will remove a place from the league, not that I understand it fully

If Chelsea win the FA cup then they qualify for the Europa League, if City win it then the Europa League goes to 7th place, with the Conference place then going to 8th....which ironically could still be occupied by Chelsea.

agree with that but no-one would have expected us to go and win at Fulham & Newcastle at the end of last season when it looked to be fizzling out. Wouldn't surprise me that much for us to get 7 points.

I never fancied us for it (too many dropped points over that Nov/Dec/Jan period) because of those lost points against teams we should have done better against.
The final kick in the teeth was the derby I guess.
I think we get a max of 4 points which won't be enough

If we can beat Palace we’ll have a chance. Draw or loose and thats us done.
All the games are so unpredictable it’s difficult to call.

Yep, it's a simple matter of keeping ourselves in it week by week now. Beat Palace then Sunderland then it's all a possibility regardless of the result against Spurs. Drop points in either of the first two games though and it's gone.

You could easily get 7.

Palace have given up on everything but Europe (which is fair enough, I reckon) and Spurs could easily be safe by the time you go there.

So, two away wins plus your standard draw at home.

We've dropped 4 points in stoppage time in the last 3 games.

We also gained 1 point in stoppage time in the game before that, so net its 3 points dropped in 4 games.

The teams from about 6th downwards are losing about 1 in 3. We need one of the teams above us to only win 1 in 3 really while we win 2 in 3. Looks unlikely but not impossible.

If we lose to Palace and results go against us it is done, probably.
