We had two forwards on in the second half neither of whom could do the basics. The ball was never held up and just came straight back to our half.Beto was absolutely abysmal and Barry wasn't much better. Aznou put a great cross in across the six yard box in the second half and both of our ' number 9's ' were nowhere near it. How we have been reduced to these two clowns being our only forward options absolutely boggles my mind

I’m not saying either are very good but they have both been a bit mishandled too.

Beto seems to be reasonable at running on to a pass between two defenders and likes to get a shot away. So to get the most out of him you need Alcaraz behind to play that ball.

Barry hardly ever seems to get a chance created for him. No one ever seems to go to the byline and stick a ball across.

Neither are ever going to be great but it’s exacerbated by playing to their weaknesses.

Watch Grealish when he gets the ball wide. He gets criticised for not whipping early, fast crosses in.
Watch Barry in the same moment.
He makes sure there’s always a defender in the way of himself and the possible place of the cross.
He doesn’t try to make a move.
In my opinion, Grealish has spotted this.
Beto at least tries, Barry just isn’t interested.

What I find most infuriating about them is they’re very crafty of giving off an illusion that they’re ‘working hard’. The pair of them actively avoid battles and shirk any sort of risk taking.

After working for yank companies for 14yrs, I'd imagine the owners are pretty hard drivers and don't take any shit when targets are set. Even if they don't know much about football they will surely know by now that these two are garbage and I'd like to think will be asking serious questions of the recommenders to buy them, and if deemed not the quality required, replaced with better. That's what the club needs.

There's no way Ellis Simms could have done any worse than this pair of utter donkeys.

Someone mentioned his sale being due to PSR, which somewhat belies the fact we've blown circa £50 million plus 2 x much bigger wages on B&B.

I can see it, anyone with eyes could see it. And I'm not trying to make out Simms is a boss striker, but the bar is so low.

When you sell a player you bank the money I'm your accounts immediately. When you buy a player you amortise it over the term of the contract from when the first payment is made, in Betos case a year after he joined us.

Beto is a product of us being skint. Barry was the new guys when we had money. He might work out given time, always a punt.
