Airport check ins

So these days you can do self check in at these bag drop places for a lot of airlines. You scan your boarding pass, your passport, click a couple of screens to confirm everything then throw your bag on the scale, it prints off the label and away you go, the whole thing takes a couple of minutes.

So how come if you go to a check in desk instead the girl/boy seems to take half an hour typing war and fhuckin peace into their computer before you are all set to go?

Aye, would like a nice comfy home win for a change. Something like the Forest game where is all settled midway through the second half and everyone can relax and enjoy.
