I think I'm right in saying of the snidey 7 we only lost at home to City, and beat Spurs.

So far this season we've been battered by Spurs and Newcastle and now lost with a whimper to Arsenal.

I love the new place and I think the atmosphere is sound, but we really need to be upping our game for these big matches and that's got to start with the manager sending his team out to at least have a go at them and get the crowd buzzing.

We are beating the shite teams though, which we struggled to do at goodison for that last 5 years.

Like Goodison, it isn’t BMD fault.

Top 4, sky 6, snidey 7, ….is it the evergreen 8 now Moyes has said we can’t live with Newcastle aswell? Does any other fanbase lump half the league in a group they can’t expect results against?

He’ll be gone soon. Hopefully they don’t extend his contract. That would be their first big mistake. He’s done his job. We left Goodison in an orderly fashion and I will be forever thankful. The last few months were an absolute joy and the last game was a day for the ages. One of my all time favourite days out.
Hopefully they’ve got a succession plan. It’s their first big test.

We lack a bit of guile and composure but I don’t think that’s news. A competent centre forward would be a start.
As for comparing Goodison with the new place. It’s a stupid comparison. It’s not like for like.
The club is changing and change always takes time.
We’ve played desperate football for the past 5 years. We won’t be in relegation battle and haven’t got all the those well documented issues hanging over us from the previous ownership.
Arsenal will go close to the title so to say we should be upping are game. It’s easier said than done.
We’ll be fine the season will be ok. The finances will improve and we’ll progress slowly and steady which is what we need.
Last night was frustrating but Arsenal did a job on us. The usual Arsenal shite. Feigning injury, tactical fouls. The ref was a joke as usual. I’d be surprised if they win the league as they seem to lack a true killer instinct but they are miles better than us.

The OP was actually just about the sort of games where we get the biggest atmospheres. We've been steam rollered in two and meekly surrendered the other, whereas at Goodison last season we held our own in all but one of them.

We all know the acid test of whether BMD is gonna truly match Goodison is in these sorts of games and so far is failing, but I believe that's got nord to do with how the manager approaches them.
