Who replaces Gueye?

Posted by westy User icon on November 28, 2025, 3:55 pm

Alcaraz for me. Tim Boom for Moyes, no doubt.

Read a few previews saying how much we'll miss him, but I'm happy to see someone else get a go as I think he's been fading.

The role is a shoe in for Tim.

He was absolutely fantastic against Fulham, still running round like a kid on Harribo on 90 odd mins. He will be missed missed especially given we are going into a busy period and Rohl is going to be out til next year.

Imagine Tim I will start tomorrow but I’d like KDH deeper and Alcaraz in.

He should go 442 get Barry and Beto together

A lovely fella thinks we are going down if we stick with Moyes.

Do any teams play 4-4-2 these days?

Used to play subbuteo with me dad and he’d have two wing halfs and two inside forwards. Feels like 4-4-2 is as outdated as that now.

Well long throws are back in vogue.
There is hope for 442 yet.
Get it in the mixer.

Head - Tim to come in and sit behind KDH

Heart - KDH in for Gueye and Alcaraz in at 10 role

No 2 would be ace but he will do no 1.

Tbf tim boom is doing well but alcaraz is very unlucky so far

It’s top quality stuff this!

The latter is what I’d do.

I’d love to see CA get a run but it seems Moyes just doesn’t rate him. He’s willing to take a chance and I think that is what he wants knocked out of him.

I think we only signed him because he was cheap and willing. The 2 year contact for a young lad was a huge red flag. We’ve got history of giving 30 year olds 5 years!

Calm down, Nosferatu!

Their midfield is top dollar and very physical so we need a bit of strength in there so Tim not Alcaraz for me.

Alcaraz was excellent in the1-0 win at Newcastle in May. Don't think he particularly lacks physicality.

Agree though, I think Tim will get the spot.

He played in the Doucoure role then though.

I think Tim has looked good this season and gets about and is physical. Be surprised if it wasn't him.

Gueye is a miss. He's still be excellent at winning the ball and breaking things up.

I'm guessing he gets three games for a straight red?

Yes. But I don't think he's ever had a red card for Senegal so maybe we can appeal using the Ronaldo precedent and reduce it to a 1 game ban with the other 2 suspended for good behaviour.

Unbelievably yes. Imagine if Portugal won it now?

Really, what is the point.

Ha I know.

Daft really tho, they’ll cruise thru the group, then he’d have been fresh for knockouts. He still probably would have played loads of games. It’s totally unnecessary. All in the name of him breaking records and scoring a ton of goals against Curaçao. What a joke

Pretty much.
That and he's in the top 2 recognisable soccer names for average Yank so has to be available for the start of the World Cup for the money...I mean good of the sport.
