What is really good for is getting g information abput live events. If something is going off somewhere in the world then its the first place I head for to see what people who are there are saying.

Other than that and non-league footie updates its shoite.

I would argue the vast vast majority of posts on twitter aren't Nazi. I left over a year ago because it's an echo chamber. Their algorithm basically ensures you see opinions that agree with you. There's no real debate, there's nobody who argues your point. Make an extreme point 500 likes, nobody disagrees because nobody who might disagree will see your point.

If you left over a year ago you wouldn't have been witness to just how bad it's got, every day when I log in I am submitted to the views of some right wing loon who I usually haven't heard of, there's been a definite change of the algorithm by Musk to push these views even to someone like me who holds left-wing views. I block them all but it doesn't seem to stop, I tried Blue sky but there are loads of people I follow won twitter who are not on there.

Sky set up a thing a while ago on Twitter, as an experiment. It's on YouTube. They set up a load of accounts and followed various things, some more right-wing some more left-wing some just football and sports and other general stuff. Then they left it and let it run for a while and then when they checked back in they compiled some stats of what the algorithm was pushing at them. Can't remember the exact number but it was about $60 to 70% Right-Wing.

In the same way I wouldn't buy the sun. I won't use Twitter.

Twitter platformed the riots in 2024 and because the government stamped down on it, musk and Trump are saying the UK has got freedom of speech issues.

So twitter can fuck right off.

You don’t need to use the “for you” feed and just follow people you like and ignore or block the nazis. It’s defo declined since Musk but it’s still better than anything else out there at what it does
