Once at Goodison there were always two empty seats just over the aisle from us.

A man and his son sat in them on Boxing Day

They were not half season tickets but full ones but his wife bought them for Christmas

The 5-0 stuffing of Middlesbro in Feb99 was like a bolt out of the blue.

Just remind the Kopite that their attendance dipped by almost 10,000 in 2010 when they lost a few games under Roy Hodgson.

I converted my nephew from a red shite to an Evertonian after his dad cheated on my sister.

We did yeah. My first one was 1997 under HK3 and I got a season ticket from my 18th birthday that started the home game AFTER the Cadamarteri derby (which was less good, routine defeat to Southampton). It was a 'half-season plus' in that you could pay pro rata, I was there for more than half a season and then renewed the following year and was sucked in.

Another one out of nowhere in the 90s, we'd been battered by Cov - John Salako special - in the league cup few days before. I was at a meet the players thing the next day and they were miserable.

Turned it spectacularly.

It's amazing to remember how bad things got that season at points.

The sit in in the Gwladys after the Tottenham game, that sort of stuff.

And yet there were wild results, should have won the Anfield derby as well if Mick Madar hadn't missed an open goal.

We lost 5 and drew 3 after that derby after the Gradig game as well. The 5 defeats all coming on the spin.

The lowest point though came at home to the Platini's in the cup. Ian fucking Rush.

Should have said I thought he was decent too and pivotal in staying up. Unlike the Madar haters that wasn't meant as a dig, it was just that we came really close to taking six points off them which given how the rest of the season went was wild.

He was a complete striker which we needed at the time.

Madar did score the winner against Blackburn at home which gave us an important 3 points, from a John O'Kane cross.

It's fair to say he probably did more than most in that run in with his goals earning an important 5 points with him also scoring the opener in 1-1 draws with Spurts and Leicester.

Got season tickets first season after trophy shy left but couldn’t get any in his third season: perhaps there was a drop off when he left and people were dismayed that we’d appointed that Koeman prick!

Yes. I sacked off my seasy around 19 years ago as I had another kid on the way.

By the time we got to boxing day I'd missed only one match home or away so reclaimed my seat and continued.

Roll forwards 5 years and bought that baby the half season ticket next to me. He's been going ever since.

I got two kids ones next to my seat in the mid 2000's and have kept them ever since. 99 quid each for the full season for about 12 years before covid hit and we had to sort the names out on them due to the needing to show your ticket, your passport and your arse to 3 different gestapos just to get to the turnstile.

I remember it well. Lobbers jnr had just been born and I took him to the ground when picking my seat.

The groundsman/steward took pics of us on the edge of the pitch and told me which was the best seat available (PE5 section fact fans). But my first game on the ST was in the St End, as the PE seat had been sold (it was Man U home... 0-2 Unsworth Centre mid iirc)..

A month later Moyes came.

23 years later... we're still there.

They were around in the early 80s. I knew lads who waited until it was clear we were on for a decent season before committing. Getting one gave you a decent chance of getting a Wembley ticket. Remember when that was a thing?
