Aged 51, motorbike accident.

Absolutely tragic - tremendous guitarist.

Got it all together and I'm ready to seethe.

Fucking devastated, here.

My mate lent me Remission when it came out, and I went for a shower and ended up staying there until the album had finished. I was 17 and just had my mind blown. Mental to think that was 23 years ago.

I saw Mastodon a few times over the years and got to hang out with Brent in Toronto, and he was class. A little reserved, weirdly enough, but after a little bit he opened up and seemed more interested in asking me stuff more than anything else. I got one of those Cameos off him for my birthday a couple of years ago too, and it was class. Loads of ace guitar shredding and drunken rambling.

He'd obviously been going through some tough times and didn't seem to be taking the break-up with the band well (even though it didn't seem like he enjoyed it very much), and it's just tragic that it all ends like this.

My band are all massive Mastodon heads, and have covered a couple of their tunes before. It's band practice tonight and I can't imagine there'll be much rehearsing going on.

RIP Brent.

Was going to listen to Deftones' new one later but will put Leviathan on and have a couple of beers in the garden with it instead.
