Further investigation at great personal expense has also revealed that our resluts in the home fixtures immediately following these defeats also improved on each occasion:

1956 lost three two v Blackpool (bumper crowd of 55000 plus for this one, new gaff eat your heart out)
1973 drew one all v Leicester
2000 won three nil v Charlton

And so the wheel comes full circle, two nil to Brighton it is, then
