1. Got what we deserved
2. Pre Season does matter, we looked like a team with no plan. Right down to a bloke that’s been there a week taking every set piece and our best player moving position every 5 minutes
3. That midfield needs sorting ASAP, absolutely no pace
4. Can’t think of a positive really, they weren’t as bad second half? Grealish got on? Garner did well second half after such a tough first half?
5. Never a penalty in a million years

I do think we will be fine, just been a really poor summer, which looks set to lead to another slow start. Pace needed in the team, as well as a full back, then hope we can get the balance right further up the field.

1. We had a good shape, but no idea of how to get the ball forward or plan for when it was forward.
b. Never a penalty. The ref was a massive homer.
iii. No width. McNeil might have helped with that.
four. Beto's been getting some stick on here, but he had absolutely zero service. A couple of hopeful punts to chase, but nothing into feet or to run on to.
5. Tim and Gueye played well defensively, but were abysmal about getting the ball into the front four.

If we can hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

4. James Garner. Played out of position (again) and was excellent..

He did, particularly defensively. Still leaves us looking unbalanced going forward there though and thought we'd have been better for him being in the midfield rather than Tim.

Play him as the defensive midfielder and you'll see the best of him. Positionally he's great.

Preaching to the converted here mate. Gets some unfair flak on here and gets us a far better foothold in the midfield more times than not. Should be one of the 1st picks in the current squad, in centre mid obv.

1. First half worst performance this calendar year. Could have been 2 or 3 and no complaints.

2. Improved 2nd half. Controlled the game. They wouldn't have scored without being given a penalty...

3...on that subject, what more can he do to avoid that being a penalty?? Literally nothing they apparently look for - no unnatural positions, no arm out from body, no bigger silhouettes, no arm movement towards ball etc - not one thing ticked for it to be a pen.

4. Beto. When you put in a stinker, it's a proper one.

5. With a right back, and a fit left back and a winger we'll be alright.

Agree with most of that. My 5 -

1. Bit of perspective - I reckon up to 6 of those today won’t be considered “first 11” players in a couple of months
2. I think the game plan was to keep it tight first half and weather the storm and then try to go and nick it - we were clearly much better second half to be fair
3. Our midfield was non-existent (especially first half) and Beto was absolutely awful all game - we need another striker if Moyes thinks Barry will need a season to bed in
4. If we play like we did first half we are going to get absolutely mullered by Brighton on Sunday for our first game at the new place
5. Never a penalty in a million years

Everyone wanting the ball to feet causing us to lose the ball over and over again.

Striker needs to be able to hold the ball up to get the midfielders into the game.

Set piece delivery plop.

Reluctance to cross the ball.

Need some signings
