I don't necessarily agree. I am a big fan of the Byrds and bought Mr Tambourine Man when it first came out but I had not heard the Dylan version until I borrowed Bringin' It All Back Home from a classmate where I first appreciated the poetry from the original. I wasn't a huge fan of Jim McGuinn's voice either and far preferred Gene Clark and thought they lost a lot when he was side-lined. I did like some of the later Gene Parsons stuff though. The Byrds' originals were my preference.
